Formed in 1988 as a remedy to boredom, the Lunachicks have come a long way, forming into a combination of feminist-inspired riot grrrl rock with a shuuge dash of trash-glam camadraderie. From New York, the Lunachicks are wild and funny and just plain great. The Lunachicks have a sound best described as the sound of L7, Bikini Kill, Joan Jett smooshed in a blender with a touch of fairy sparkle glam dust and served over Ramones style guitar rock. Never heard of 'em? The Lunachicks choose their exposure carefully and as such interviews are rare. They did however appear along with Debbie Harry and Joan Jett in one of the very first ever live concerts broadcast over the Internet in January‘96. Despite this, The Lunachicks have toured with decent bands like The Offspring, Rancid, Reverend Horton Heat, Butthole Surfers, The Ramones, The Buzzcocks and Rollins Band.
